Glitchbox is the online portfolio of Joshua G. It features websites that I have designed, mainly for artists and sites dedicated to art.
While social networking sites such as Facebook, Myspace, Twitter and so on are great for keeping your fans up to date with news and showing recent work, I believe that a website showcasing your work is still very important. It is a place that your art will be easy to find and not subject to the possibility of these social sites falling out of popularity. Your website will not only have a portfolio section with your work, but the following features can also be added: blog section, online store, the ability to automatically update twitter and facebook, and anything else you would like to have.
Your portfolio site can be as intense or minimal as you like. I mainly use Wordpress to run the sites as it allows for easy updating and is filled with features that make your site a dynamic and powerful. I also have built blog and magazine site dedicated to art, so the possibility for something more than a portfolio site is there.
Since I only create site for artists and sites dedicated to art, I only take on jobs that I am interested in working on. I also like to trade web work for art. I think this makes it easier, and both parties come out with something they like.
